Why does my toilet paper smell musty?

For two days I've been smelling a musty/mold/mildew smell in my bathroom. I smelled everything and finally tracked it down to the toliet paper.It's Charmin, the same kind we've been using for many years. This was a new pack we bought a couple days ago.

The whole pack smells musty. Has anyone else had this happen? Why does it smell?

Probably has to do with storage Before your TP was put out on grocery store shelves, it probably sat in a back warehouse. And before that, it sat in manufacturer's warehouses too. It makes a long trip from the assembly line to your bathroom.(although now that I pause to think, how is TP made?

On an assembly line? Could that be right?) Anyway, at one of those storage points there were obviously some damp conditions (my money's on the folks at the grocery store). And yes, if I was in your shoes I'd throw out the TP right away.

Don't want to expose my privates to any mold-spawned creepy-crawly microbes! Then I would probably contact either the grocery store or the manufacturer directly to complain (politely). The grocery store probably won't do much of anything.

But the manufacturer will likely send you coupons for free TP. Plus they might like to be aware if their product is being mishandled at some point down the line. Definitely bizarre, but with wet spring weather it's not totally shocking.

You can either, e-mail the company that makes Charmin, or call their toll free number and tell them exactly why you are dissatisfied with the Charmin. Don't settle for just throwing it away. Most companies want to receive feedback. Sometimes, just by giving them the UPC Number, a company may be able to trace where the package was shipped from and to.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
