Why does oprah care more about people talking on cell phones while driving than murder and rape?

By finally allowing yourself to satisfy your cravings without sabotaging your diet, you can keep the weight you lose off for good, saving yourself hundreds and even thousands of dollars in the process Get it now!

I cannot speak for Oprah Winfrey, not one person here can, but it would be difficult to imagine that Oprah Winfrey cared more about cell phones and driving than murder and rape. I suspect you are unhappy with her choice of topic for her talk show recently and you would get a better answer to your question and maybe even have your concerns addressed if you were to email the Oprah Winfrey Show directly. :) These links are from Oprah's official website.

oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id... Oprah could read your email on an upcoming show. oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id... Send Oprah your show suggestions. oprah.com/ownshow/plug_form.html?plug_id... Share your personal thoughts on the stories.

I will go out on a limb and say you are incorrect in your presumption. Good luck and hopefully you can get your points across to the Oprah Show's producers.

There is no reason to think she cares more about people talking on cell phones while driving than murder and rape. Any more than if she did a show on losing weight, that would mean she cared more about dieting than murder. I would imagine that her reason for doing the show was that not many people are aware of the serious effects of talking on cellphones while driving, and think it is ok to do it.

Likewise policy makers don't take it seriously because the public does not take it seriously. More people are killed in the US in road traffic accidents every month than were killed on 9/11. Talking on cellphones has been shown to seriously impair people's driving ability.

Yet I suspect that you are one of the people looking for an excuse to not stop doing it, and indignant that anyone would dare to suggest that something you want to do is a bad thing. Tell me why do you care about the convenience of talking on the phone while driving more than you care about people being killed and maimed on the roads? And why do 37,000 people killed on the roads not matter compared to 14,000 who are murdered?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
