Why does spicy food taste so good?

I understand sweet foods...but one would think foods that burn our mouths, make us sweat, gives us indigestion and sends us to the bathrooms later...we would stay from...But it tastes so good! Why is that? Asked by Villain 22 months ago Similar questions: spicy food taste Food & Drink > Food.

It's all because of endorphins. Endorphins are a group of peptide hormones that occur naturally in the brain that, when released, increase the body's threshold for pain and affect the way you feel emotionally. Endorphins are chemically very much like morphine.

Sugar induces endorpins because sense of euphoria comes from several chemical mechanisms in the brain. The sheer pleasure of eating a piece of chocolate or a powdery donut stimulates the brain's pleasure pathways and the release of dopamine and endorphins, these chemicals make us feel exhilarated. Spicy food on the other hand releases endorphins for a different reason.

When capsaicin, the element of chili peppers that cause the spicy sensation, comes into contact with the tongue, the body is tricked into believing that it is in pain and releases the pain-relieving endorphins. This explains why, like anything that releases endorphins, spicy food can become somewhat addictive. People start to crave it and build tolerance levels so that, that food that once seemed very spicy starts to seem quite mild.

But don't worry, there's no reason to worry about becomeing addicted to spicy foods. You will never have physical withdrawal symptoms, destroy your life because of them, or need chili peppers just to feel good. It's a benign addiction and given the many health benefits of spicy food, it is a healthy addiction. So bring on the hot stuff, I'm ready to give it a try.

Video Usually it's only guys that are this stupid. :P .

Pain releases endorphins, which make you feel good, which then cause you to associate the experience of pain with taste. You masochist, you. There is an actual flavor to these peppers, but some of these sauces go out of their way to simply be painful instead of have some flavor as well.

I prefer Cholula for having both. Danielpauldavis's Recommendations Baboon Ass Brand Habanero Hot Sauce Amazon List Price: $6.45 See what I mean. I ask for "cholula salsa" and I get this malarkey instead!.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
