Why doesn't the definition of "chemical free" include: coffee, teas, sugars, and chocolate?

As with vegetarianism there is a continuum in definition. For some "chemical-free" space means any substance that alters the "natural" mind or body. That can include drugs, alcohol, coffee, teas, sugars, and chocolate, it can also mean "prescription" drugs such as psychotropics and anti-biotics.
