Why is human life said to be more valuable then animal life.?

I agree so much. Children are STARVING in places like Africa (not on child abuse at the moment, but I'll come to it soon). They are dying of diseases.

They don't even have the strength to drink- and even if they did there is not enough water for them. People are dying in hovels because they cannot afford NETS or vaccines. Children are walking in bare feet, and are working harder than a lot of adults in this country- just so they won't die.

People are asked to pay £5 for them, to give vaccines, or food, or water, or nets, or just a bit of schooling. And yet people prefer to give to animals, not children. And it is just crazy why someone who harms children can get less, or a more lenient, sentence than someone who abuses an animal.

Obviously they should be punished, and severley- hurting a living creature is wrong, just plain wrong. But surely someone who abuses their own child is even worse? But (about the point about giving second chances to maulers) I think that the reason is this- often dogs are driven to things.

Most dogs are fine, but training and abuse often means they do not really have a FIRST chance to life. So maybe they should get a chance, huh? But personally, an animal which appears to have an okay life but mauled a kid or someone should be put down.

Humans should try and help themselves before helping others.

You haven't asked this as a question. You've said your opinion as if it's fact. But do you have any idea how wrong you are?

In the UK, the MAXIMUM penalty for animal abuse is 6 months. The owner may or may not get a ban on animals, and then that's usually it. To be honest I've never heard of anyone going to prison for any length of time due to animal cruelty because the owners usually come up with excuses.

The thing is that there have been some disgusting cases of animal cruelty and neglect. I've heard of dogs having their ears cut off and being tied up with duct tape to be left for dead at the side of the road. I've heard of rats which haven't been cleaned out in so long, the 'litter' in their cage is about 3 inches of solid waste (greenish gray from mould) and they're starving so much that they eat their dead cage mates.

(thankfully they were dumped on the doorstep of somebody I know before all of them died) Somebody stole my cat and, when finding out my cat was fixed, beat him up and locked him outside of the house to starve to death. (when he was eventually given to the vet he couldn't move his head because his fur had matted so badly, and his back legs were tied together in the knots) All of those cases? The offender wasn't charged and probably never will be.

The justice system isn't nearly good enough in my opinion. I am a strong believer in the death penalty. In my opinion if you are a serial murderer or whatever you deserve to die.

And yes, if you molest a child I think you deserve to die. But at the same time I don't think you can blame animals. And one reason why animal abuse probably gets more attention than child molestation is because families don't want to sell stories like that to the newspapers.

I don't know about you, but if my child was raped I wouldn't want to send in a picture and write to the newspaper about everything that's happened. And, in my opinion, if a dog mauls it's owner it's the OWNER'S fault. Whether they just cannot be bothered to socialise the pup or whether they train it intentionally to be aggressive, the owner is nearly always to blame.

(and if the current owner isn't to be blamed, a previous owner is) I've seen people who buy status dogs and TRAIN them to be aggressive. As soon as they bite a child, that's it. It's reported and will be destroyed.

Obviously if no amount of training will return it to normal then it may be for the best, both for the dog and the public, but why should the dog pay for the owner's mistake? The owner won't be charged. Technically, it's not neglect or abuse.

It's avoidable, and thanks to the owner the dog had to die. Had it gone elsewhere, that dog could still be alive in a wonderful family home where it's being given lots of hugs and kisses everyday. In my opinion if the dog cannot be given a second chance, the owner shouldn't either, and they should get a permanent ban on keeping animals.

Just thought I should add this, too... humans ARE animals. Whether you like it or not. We just have big brains.

EDIT: XD Your points are getting more and more stupid. Lawlz.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
