This dryer is a Whirlpool, maybe 8-10 years old. Last time this happened I had to do a thourough lint cleaning, but this time, that didn't solve the problem. I'm prettiy handy; I just have no knowledge of appliance repair.

Commen sense goes a long way, without it something as ordinary as a pair of scissors can be dangerous, but you don't need a PHD in scissors to use it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
