Before I give my response here I just want to say that @mythicalstorm273 had a very good response that I agree with. I don't know that I could word it any better. People are learning more about who they are and where they came from and from that they are able to make up their minds using intelligent thought from the facts at hand.
Who or what is "GOD"? That can clear up a lot if the meaning of "GOD" was defined better. God to you or someone else might be a man in the sky called heaven that protects us, makes things happen, etc.But God to me or someone else might just mean something that is supreme; maybe a man, maybe it is me, or an alien etc. The point is many people believe in something more powerful than ourselves but have a different view of what that is.
I recently wrote a hub on this very subject that I think you might enjoy. Agree or not is up to the reader, but this is my belief and I have my own thoughts and reasons for believing in my theory. I hope you take the time to read it with an open mind.
Once upon a time religious men refused to look at astronomical bodies through Galileo's telescope out of fear. Most have began to embrace science since then. Atheism is on the rise because many are putting more "faith" in science as it answers questions without dogma or fairy tales.
Adhering to tradition simply because religious ideology is useful and not neccessarily true is not virtuous. As we learn more, God gets smaller to some people.
I still believe in God as many many people do, but our society now a days believes so strongly in the right to be an individual that they use their own mind to do what they believe is right under God. Even those that do not believe in God and use science as a basis still follow the same ideas. Science adds things for people to consider, but in the long run we all need to make up our own minds about what we believe.
Beliefs are complicated and detailed. There are many reasons behind them and nobody agrees with anybody else in the world. There might be a bunch of people who are say catholic but not a single catholic is 100% like another one.
They will disagree about something. We just need to use our brains and think!
People are becoming educated and thinking rationally. We don't just do as were told anymore, we think for ourselves and common sense says god is just a myth.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
