Why should Atheists respect a religion that doesn't respect Atheists?

I can respect the believer, but not the beliefs. And once a religion begins to impact government and intellectual freedom it is no longer worthy of any "respect" or "tolerance" and instead deserves nothing but staunch opposition.

Because it makes people happy, they have the right to be happy. While I agree that ALL religions are a creation of man. I do believe in a God, but I don't believe he represents ANY religion created by men on this planet.

I actually agree with you 100%, religion is a plague to our planet. Religion is a business. It centralizes peoples money, ideologies, and power within the community.

Think of ALL religions as fraternities mixed with multi-national corporations.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
