Why shouldn't we put up Alan Keyes as our Republican Party nominee?

I should start by saying that I am not a Republican but on the other hand I am not a Liberal either although I fall with that political ideology - I am a citizen of this country and as such I am disgusted with what is happening in Washington and am truly disappointed with the Republican party in particular. The nation is in one of the most challenging times in our history; teetering on the verge of economic collapse, a severely divided public and strained military. And what is the Republican party doing, using every single dirty trick in the book to hold up progress while the American people say stuck in the middle.

This isn't about the Republican party doing what is right for Americans it is about them holding up any meaningful change until they can return to power by claiming that Obama has not accomplished any of his goals and objectives when in fact they were the ones who stood in his way. Take for example the issue of health care reform, the President began the discussion by saying that there are points where both parties agree and his focus was meet in the middle (or try to) on those issues where they do not. And what did the Republicans want to do?

Start from the beginning. Think about it, if there were many issues where both parties agree (striving for lower premiums, coverage for existing conditions, a competitive industry) why would the Republicans only input be we need to start from the beginning? It doesn't make sense.

So we know they are just trying to stall the process for as long as they can because they know it makes Obama look bad and gets them one day closer to resuming power and continuing the policies which are hurting everyday Americans.

Not many. You may not have noticed, but if you are a moderate Republican you just don't have much company in your party any more as they drive forward with the purification of their party until they drive out anyone who does not agree 100% with their destructive, unpatriotic obstructionist views. Soon you will probably do what so many other moderates have done and register as an independent until the Republican party can get back to the business of helping the country recover from the damage of the Bush disaster.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
