A changed or more favorable climate after WWII and effective black leadership notably Martin Luther King jr. The US fought a racist power, nazi Germany, in WWII, and that gave blacks a propaganda weapon--it made no sense for them to fight the idea of a master race only to come home and have to deal with the notion here. Martin Luther King had exactly the right kind of strategy for advancing blacks. He knew it would be suicidal for blacks--greatly outnumbered in the US--to resort to violence so he emphasized a nonviolent approach, and also a christian slant in the religious US.
He got enough support to end segregation and improve voting rights for blacks.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
