I'm on the verge of throwing a tantrum like a 2 year old. Last Mother's Day I got my mom a Polaroid digital pic fram. I am just now getting to putting pics on it (I'm a procrastinator and I was trying to gather up pics).
I've had LOADS of trouble with this...namely, my computer keeps freezing when it's plugged in (happened 3x) and I even had to do a system restore once. I managed to get the battery fully charged and even had like 20 pics on the frame when the computer froze AGAIN! Unplugged it from the puter, but it won't come on.
I restarted the puter and tried again. When I plugged the frame in, it said that USB device was not recognized and explained that it had malfunctioned and Windows doesn't recognize it. I followed the instructions and reset it the frame, but that didn't seem to work as I'm still getting the same message and it STILL won't come on!
SOMEONE PLEASE HELP! P.S.I use Vista. Asked by princesssarah 23 months ago Similar questions: computer recognize digital picture frame Computers > Hardware > Desktops & Laptops.

OK, here goes... This is a stab in the dark, but I saw your other question about this one, and a light bulb (abeit a dim one) came on in my head when I thought about it again. If my answer stinks, at least give me credit for trying. A digital picture frame should appear to a host computer as a removable drive, similar to a USB thumb drive.
However, unlike one of those, it may not expect the computer to supply enough power to run the device. I have a digital picture frame made by Pandigital. It has a mini-USB port on the side to connect it to my computer.
When I plug it into my computer with just the USB cable, the computer does not recognize it. It still does not recognize it with the frame's AC adapter plugged in. It does, however, see it when I turn the power on.My frame will run only with the AC adapter - it has no battery power.
So - I would try the device with the AC adapter connected and the frame powered on. If this doesn't improve things any, the unit is probably defective. If it is, you will see similar results on any computer you plug it into.
There is also a possibility that the cable is defective. USB cables are standardized; you should be able to find or borrow one that fits. If nothing works, you may have some luck getting Polaroid to replace it, but if you don't - the Pandigital frames work pretty well.

1 Well. It could be many things, including faulty hardware. However, let's start with the most important question.
Did the picture frame came with an installation CD? Did you install the appropriate drivers? .

If you had to install anything, you might want to try uninstalling and re-installing. I went on-line and looked at Polaroid frames and I didn't see where they had any memory rating? They mentioned a USB memory-stick flash drive. It could simply be that you're overloading everyone's capacity by trying to put big pictures where they simply won't fit.
Get a flash drive (if you have one, great, if not buy a 1 gig or whatever you can easily afford) and try uploading your pix on it, then plugging that into the frame. If you're uncertain about getting the pix on the flashdrive, I'll try to help, but it's like a 4 year old leading your 2 year old. Lol .

Princesssarah replied to post #1: 3 it did not come with an installation CD. It was solely "plug-and-play". It charges with the USB and doesn't have a seperate a/c adapter.
I had several pics on it, so I know that it's not totally defective .

IchtheosaurusRex replied to post #3: 4 That's a piece of information I was missing. If it charges from the USB port, it might not be supplying enough current to charge the battery, especially if you're using a laptop. If you have an iPod or other music player, or a GPS device that uses a USB charging cable, try charging it from that, or let it charge overnight on a USB port from a desktop computer. It could just be an undercharged battery giving you grief.
Here's something that might work. amazon.com/Kodak-USB-AC-Adapter-adapter/... .

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
