Why won't my five y/o cat eat canned cat food?

Cats can be finnicky. My cat won't eat it either.

Maybe you were feeding it a certain kind of food for a while and then started giving her a different kind of food. She might not be used to eating the new food. Mix the old food into the new food gradually for her and she might get used to it.

We adopted an older cat and some can food he just would not eat and if he did he would throw up. Not with the Fancy Feast. He loves that one.

Depends on the quality. We have two cats and we feed them can and dry food, good quality. They are always walking around munching on something.

I think they are copying hubby.

We have tried them all,all she does is try to bury it(hard to do with tile floors)she licks the juice but thats it. She always has her indoor formula dry food jerbear823 12 months ago .

Mine too like the juicy part. Both my cats will not touch anything that has fish. One came with a bag of Purina dry food that today he will not touch (that's all they fed him) and I ended up feeding it to the possums and raccoons. They like the Fancy Feast dried Fancy Feast® Gourmet Cat Food (purple bag only). They get the Purina Indoor Formula and I also give the urinary tract formula.As we got to know them I had a list going every time a can was appreciated twice.

I mix the fancy feast dry with the Purinas indoor Formula 1 lagre and 1 small bag, thats out all the time. She will eat the FF turkey (small can) but we only give her half,because she may or may not eat it. We got her used when she was 4,a real diva but she will spend hours on my lap.

We have had cats for a long time. We had 2 brothers,one died at 15 the other at 17. We got them as kittens from our Son and his wife.

Mine get 1/2 can each in the morning and I have the dry food available on the side. At night each one gets a whole can,..they do not eat it but that's OK because I have a mama racoon with babies coming to eat. All the leftovers...ours and the cats...are given to the animals.

I have not been mixing the dry food so they have a variety. Another Av member prepares a mix of Purina dry food for her cats. Mixing the Indoor formula, adding the urinary tract health, fur ball control and also the vibrant 7+ (for the joints).

Her cats get few scoops a day of this mixture. I have a feeling that we stress too much about giving them variety and they do not give a rat's a.. about it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
