Why would DVR recordings play, but the TV will not work on the same cable box (the cable works fine on other sets)?

I have Time Warner Cable and a Scientific American Cable Box supplied by them. The TV has stopped working (power on/no sound or picture), yet it shows the channel and programming information at the bottom of the screen, menus work, and DVR recordings play and sound normal.Is the cable box bad? Generally the cable comes into the room in question and connects directly to the cable box, and then the cable box will connect to the DVR, and the DVR connects to your TV. Please let us know if this is the case, and if there are any splitters between the cable wall-jack, and the TV. And let us know if you have other boxes connected to this "mix".

Also, is your DVR still actively recording programming from your cable box? How about the inputs/outputs from all your connected boxes. Generally you have multiple options on all of your devices and TV sets, you may need to access certain menu options to enable/disable the specific I/O ports on each device.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
