I would challenge that so many are declared Democrats, and if they are, they're most certainly misinformed Democrats. The issue is that true Democrats understand that the government was hijacked and wrecked long before Obama, and that true progressivism is necessary to correct its ills. Only "fair weather" Dems would have the temerity to defect to the tea party, let alone decry the current president as being anything else other than a weak willed centrist.
On my personal experience, I have only seen republicans too ashamed to admit voting republican, so they claim to be Tea Party (like my husband, who openly admits to being ashamed of having republican beliefs, so he says he's Tea Party). I have NEVER met a TRUE democrat who supported the Tea Party, although there are so-called dems (in name only) who simply claim that party because they're too ashamed of the other two parties. The Tea Party seems to me to be another party formed for those republicans who are now too ashamed to vote republican, so they formed a new party for similar beliefs that they can feel "good" about supporting.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
