If by any chance you live in Florida and have full coverage on your car they will pay for it without using your deductible The deductible does not apply for a windshield. I live in Florida and mine was replaced and I didn't have to pay anything. It was not cracked just pitted.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
