Yes any cable modem should work. You will need to call Charter and tell them you have a "customer owned modem. " You will then give them the MAC address on the modem.It should work then.

The modem should work The only compatibility list I've seen for Charter does not list that specific modem, but I checked the specs and I don't see why it wouldn't work. It's probably just a matter of it not having been tested. I'd recommend buying the modem from a vendor that will allow you to return it.
