Will you feel bad if you gave someone a gift and you didn't get a gift back?

I do every year. I give because it makes me feel good. It is so rarely reciprocated I am shocked when it happens.

:0).

I agree with Time4Travel, Christmas is all about giving, and it shouldn't matter what or even if you get anything back in return. We shouldn't give presents expecting to get one in return, we should just give out of love.

No. For me, Christmas is all about the giving. Gifts are nice to get of course, but they are not everything.

I wrote a hub about the commercialization of Christmas and the need to save the true meaning of Christmas. You can check it out at: hubpages.com/hub/SavingChristmas.

I actually enjoy the giving more when I know that there isn't anything coming back. Giving is my gift. I'm lucky.

I don't really need anything. I have a job, a good husband, a house, transportation, food, clothes, technology that meets our needs. We need nothing. In fact, we don't want anything.

Simplicity is also a gift.

I like to give rather than receive presents, so giving someone a present is my personal choice. What that other person receiving a present from me chooses to do is their choice. I'm just content with a sincere 'Thank you' :-).

Of course, not. Gift means giving something without expectation in return. We give presents just out of love.

We all love getting gifts, but not reciprocally. But only thing that I love and enjoy in return is, recipient's gleeful smile.

No. Expecting the same actions or thoughts back as you gave is a 'game' and to me is annoying and does'nt mean much. I don't like the "who owes who what and when" game either.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
