Windows 7: How can I customize the "sort by" defaults for ALL folders?

According to sevenforums.com, here are the steps to customize the "sort by" defaults for ALL folders: 1. Set a default folder template that you want to have all Windows Explorer folders to use. NOTE: You can choose between having the General Items, Documents, Pictures, Music, or Video templates as the default folder template for all folders.2.

Now make any other changes to the folder view settings of a folder in Windows Explorer to how you want it to be displayed, then apply it to all folders. Since all folders have the same template from step 1, they will be applied to all of your folders to have the same folder view. It sounds like you already know how to set things up the way you like it, but you want to avoid doing it for every folder. So here's what you do: Go ahead a choose any folder and set it up the way you like: + click VIEW to choose icons, details, sort by, group by, etc. + VIEW > CHOOSE DETAILS to select or deselect display details Once you have everything the way you want it: + click TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW tab > APPLY TO FOLDERS = once you click YES to confirm, this will make all folders use the same view. You can also change other details (extensions, system files, thumbnails, etc) before clicking APPLY TO FOLDERS.

Note: This will override ALL previous settings, but any settings applied on a particular folder after this time will override this default. Hope this helps.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
