Would you consider buying an electric car?

I'd be more keen on electric cars if the energy they were powered from was more eco-friendly instead of being largely from fossil fuels as it is now. I take the point about low emissions though. To answer your question, I would NOT consider buying an electric car at the moment, but that is only because I would never buy a comparatively new car, and electric cars are new.

I like a well-used (pre-loved! ) car because it keeps purchasing costs down and car registration taxes low (annual property tax based on the value of the car). Interesting question you've posed.

Not yet. As the range of the electric cars are still limited, one has to have one car for town running and one for long trips. The infrastructure for recharging when you are out also a problem .. at least where I am.So it is better to wait and see.

I'm in the market to buy a "new" car right now, we need a second one for the household and I am strongly considering buying an EV. My home is already about 80% powered by solar, so some of the charge for the car will be "cleaner". As for distance, the car I'm looking at gets about 120 miles to the charge and has a top speed over 100 mph.

Lburmaster - batteries can be recycled, it is of course the responsibility of the car owner to make sure they are disposed of properly.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
