Well, some people get remembered for bold actions, like Kaiser Wilhelm, and some people get remembered for profound thoughts, like Socrates... But the people who really make a difference are those who can bring the two together, i.e. , Alexander the Great was insanely bold in his actions, yet he had some profound thoughts, like the decision to found Alexandria... which became one of the core focal points of all things civilized in the eastern Mediterranean for centuries, spinning off cultural, philosophical and theological developments still resonating today. So... I'd rather it be both, but if I had to choose... I'd say profound thoughts, because I can only be bold with one life, namely mine, but profound thoughts can be picked up and used by many others of a bold nature for generations to come.
That's a very interesting question because both can be remembered for a very long time. I think if it was me though, I'd rather be remembered for bold actions rather than profound thoughts. Yes, I could say something very profound but there's that cliche that actions speak louder than words.
Rather than saying something profound, what if I actually did something very profound? I liken it to having a great idea and implementing a great idea - many people have great ideas, but not many people can implement those ideas and implement them well. Therefore, yes, I may have profound thoughts, but (and maybe this is because I'm a results-oriented person) I'd rather be remembered for taking action and getting some sort of result out of it.
To really be remembered you would have to combine the two. Bold actions come from profound thinkers. Not all bold actions are related to killing or the taking of life.
How about the person whose profound thoughts inspired the first heart transplant. This was a bold action to save somebody's life. But if I had to choose it would be profound thought as this could inspire future generations.
I'd probably go with bold actions. There's just something about being on the front lines and accomplishing things that matter. Not that smart ideas aren't extraordinarily important, but if I had to choose just one I'd go with actions.
I am a thinker and not at all a brave person, so I would say profound thought. I love to write and to think. I love to read poems and think of something deep and profound and wish I could articulate my thought and share it with people.
I love it when people read my fiction and say how much they enjoy it, especially if they think the story move them so much. So yeah, I would love to be remembered for my profound thoughts.
Words or thoughts, as inspiring as they may be, are dead unless action is provoked. A bold action speaks for itself.
Many of us live in fear of taking action, but how can you truly live your life unless you act on what you believe. When I leave this life I want to remembered for the person I was and not the person I hoped to be. If you want to be remembered by more people, then my suggestion to you is to take risks.
Please excuse the cliches as I say this but simply, go outside of your box and pick the road less travelled. Think of it this way: the goals that you make for yourself are only really still in the form of a "thought" you have on how to make your life more meaningful; putting that thought into "action" means attaining that goal. And once you begin attaining your goals you become the person who you want to be and that is how you will be remembered: for the person you were and the things you accomplished.
This fact is clear when you hear the words at a funeral describing the person who passed. We can truly only know a person by his or her actions. Let's face it, the actions we take are our visible personality.
What we do defines us. And in further thought, remember that the most memorable conversations we have with other people are based on not what we say but how we say it. "What" we say aloud is really just a thought coming out in verbal form."How" we say it is the action that brings meaning to the type of person we truly are in the eyes of others.
I just think that great men have both... But, if I could only choose one, I'd want to be remembered for profound thoughts. It is because thoughts will stay forever from generations to generations. Best examples are the theories.
Theories are the ones being used in order to make calculations or bold actions. There should be that certain idea or formula in order to foresee the probable outcome.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
