I think @pixelsilva deserved the brown belt. But I have some not-so-politically-correct opinions (tongue-in-cheek, haha): 1. I don’t see the importance of brown, black belt test.No disrespect intended for peoples who achieve those.
It may have some privileges but I think those are not very important. Prestige wise I think it’s good to have, as a recognition of contributions. I don’t respect (or disrespect) peoples based on their belt systems.
The belt is no big deal. Just because Mahalo makes a belt system and promote its prestige doesn’t make it a prestigious icon.2. I don’t feel comfortable being rated by some peoples that I don’t know.
Who are these peoples to rate me? Are there some successful peoples, experts? I don’t know.
No disrespect intended… Even if they are successful ppls, experts, do I need to be rated by them? Example: Let say I start up a website, then I send out mails to all US CEOs, asking them to pay me 500 for a rating service, whether they can achieve brown belt, black belt in WY Management Effectiveness Rating. Nobody will do so unless I’m like Forbes, FastCompany etc.. Nobody will care whether I rate them brown or black belt.
My rating is just immaterial now.4. There is possibility of “humiliation If not achieving the belt.In this mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-commun... tealmyster brown belt test, @bunnyphuphu mentioned that: “I'll let you in on a little secret.(sshh!
) There have been many that have walked your path and failed. Yes... Mahalo doesn't like to talk about those. Instead, @jasoncalacanis made a compilation video of those unlucky ones and @lon accidentally shared it on Youtube.
€? I guess I would opt out when my points are near: http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-community/is-there-a-way-for-mahaloians-to-opt-out-from-brown-belt-black-belt-test-if-there-is-none-i-would-like-to-propose-one my questiton on opt out We are who we are, with or without the belt. We don’t have to waste time on why not we get the belt.
If can get, good. If cannot get, never mind too. For me, I might as well opt out.
Save own time, save Mahalo staff time. :-).
After reading the profile of @pixelsilva I have seen he has made, what seems to me, all of the qualifications to be a Brown Belt as the Mahalo Belts page states we must have given at least M$50.00 in tips back to the community, @pixelsilva has done that. I would imagine his Brown Belt Test is coming soon. S participation is pretty much unmatched in quality so I am going to say that Mahalo has only been waiting until he had reached the M$50.00 "Tips Given" statistic minimum to give him the Brown Belt Test.
I would imagine @pixelsilva will get a Black Belt Test when he reaches the "Tips Given" minimum statistic achievement of M$100.00 and around that point he will be given the Black Belt he deserves.
I just checked his profile and found that he just became a black belt. Where did you see that he has not received his brown belt? It must have been an error.
I think @pixelsilva very much deserves the brown belt. He has not yet tipped M$100, so he does not meet the requirements for black regardless of points. If and when he reaches M$100 tips given I'd certainly feel he deserves the black belt as well.
Having said all that, I do not have all the information Mahalo staff has, and it may well be that they're waiting for an opportune moment to promote him to brown. Let's hope this thread gets staff attention and that they'll promote him as soon as they can.
Pixelsilva deserves whatever advanced belt he's presented, Brown and/or Black Belt.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
