You wake up tomorrow morning and you no longer feel the need for a higher power; you have stopped believing in god and scorn religion. How do you feel? Elated?
Sad? Empty? Like you've lost a friend?
What do you do? ( you won't pray, because you don't believe) Asked by Schelli 18 months ago Similar questions: wake tomorrow morning longer feel higher power stopped believing god Society > Religion & Spirituality.

I'd still have my wants, even after losing my needs. And I want to talk to someone who talks to me. I already scorn religion because I know I can't do anything to make God happy with me.
He already loves me. But to suppose that one who has the Holy Spirit has actually stopped believing in God (who is inside one) is to suppose mere wish fulfillment. That'd be a more accurate topic than "Christianity." .

2 I don't think you could possibly know how you are going to feel, until it happens. If it happens. I will, however, take a stab at "empty" because something very comforting will be missing from your life.

3 Elated. But if you were raised Catholic and have prayed all of your life, you likely WILL pray - out of rote habit. And that is a very odd thing, indeed.

4 I would realize that I am dead and that my heart has stopped beating then I would have an understanding of why I was put on this earth in the first place.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
