If he is using your Steam account then he most likely changed the store region to France, on Steam click on your name at the top right and go to account details, at the top you will see store region, change that to United Kingdom (£), Steam will only change the currency if you change the region, it does not change automatically based on where you're connecting from, this is mostly due to some people like to use VPNs which can spoof their location, this helps prevent DDOS attacks if you're a streamer.
