Life isn't a raw, translated script. We interpret it like reading a poem. Everyone sees everything differently (though we share some qualities in common--namely, our senses).
Our perception dictates if an event is favorable or disastrous. It's about being optimistic, realistic, or pessimistic. One must balance emotion with logic to grasp the picture.
I like to combine many lenses of thought together.
Happiness and outlook may indeed be intertwined. An outlook may be refined by balancing past, present, and future. Some people think that happinesss is real only in the present moment.
Nevertheless, a past positive memory brings happiness to the present. Likewise, a future expectation also brings happiness. The secret is to avoid spending too much time in the past or the future.
The effect of something unpleasant is lessened by adopting the outlook that everything passes. Every second is a stepping stone to the next second and so on. An outlook of learning from both positive and seemingly negative events paves the way to happiness.
I'm a natural pessimist, so I always expect the worst. When everything doesn't a horrible as I thought I'm happy, So Im always happy. Life is what you make of it.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
