I was in a hurry to get started and didn't want to use a real pic so I drew one.
The butterfly represents transformation, and for me, I'm in a season of change in my life.
First, Earth Day means something to me (other than just "Earth Day"). This isn't particularly unique, but one thing I liked about the picture is that it represents (to me) someone who cares about the world (the people in it, etc. ) and the Earth (the planet). I like the transparent, kind of ethereal, quality of the picture.
I guess I prefer something that's a little more "alive looking" than "concrete" or "flat" images. Actually, I hate the color, blue; but it comes with the picture, so I adjusted to that. The depth of the ocean, the "stormy" elements in a couple of the clouds, and the way the sun shines in the photo as well, mean the picture has lots of elements to it (the way a life, or a person, usually does).
Mostly, I guess, I like that picture is without gender; and yet it defintely has (I think) a pretty, feminine, element to it (and I'm a woman, so the feminine aspect to the picture just naturally seems appropriate to me). I suppose, too, because I write in different styles and about different things (whether on here on "in life in general") , I thought the multi-element picture seemed right. :)Having said all that... Actually, I'm pretty sick of that picture at this point; but now I'm also kind of so used to it I don't like to change it.
At the time I only had about 3 or 4 digital photos to choose from. This is of our two cats who are sisters. One of our two teenage daughters took the photo.
If only they could be as comfortable in each others presence.
My profile pic is part of my business logo.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
