A Gassy Poll: Are you boycotting BP gas stations in response to their massive oil spill?

I am sick over what has happened. However, a decision was made today to start giving money to the people who lost income over this instead of making BP shareholders profit from it. If you boycott BP, you are indirectly hurting the people who have lost their way of life because of them.

BP may go bankrupt anyhow, and you know their reputation has taken a possibly deadly hit from this. The problem is, if you make them go bankrupt, they will have gotten away with it and could possibly not end up having to pay anything in the end. So, in other words, it hurts everyone if they go out of business at this point.

Personally, if I had the money, I would pay to send some local volunteers to help in the rescue efforts (for their flights, food and housing). It is all so sickening and sad, just unbelievable that this could happen in this day and age - we can send men to the moon but not figure this one out?

BP doesn't own the gas stations. They franchise them. So you not going to a BP gas station does nothing but hurt some local guy who owns it and and some local people who work there.

BP could care less.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
