A question for parents and teenagers, is this the worst punishment you have ever heard of?

My parents did when I was like.. 5. Now if they "lock" me in my room they're just locking me in a room with a TV, laptop, phone, magazines, ect. And no socialization with them!?

Yeah, harsh punishment there haha. But no, they don't anymore. Actually, when I get in an argument *I* personally leave and go to my room because I want to see their faces.

Then after about 20-30 minutes of me watching TV upstairs and them sitting alone downstairs, I'll come out and everything is normal. :D.

I am 42 and raising 2 kids, ages 6 and 14. I couldnt imagine locking them in for meal time! We always eat at the table together as a family.

Yes they get grounded, and sent to their rooms. But I have never heard of being so secluded as to not be able to eat with the rest of the family....sounds a little harsh....when you are on good terms with mom and dad, and not in trouble, maybe ask one of them about this.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
