Any recommendations for shrubs that will survive in poor dry soil, deep shade under a large tree?

Most varieties of Juniper will do well in these types of conditions. They are hardy evergreens that weather cooler temperate zones, don't really need a lot of direct sunlight and prosper in just about any type of soil.

Heuchera do well, another name is coral bells. Castiron plant (aspidistra) and Gold Dust plant (Aucuba). Another is Clivia, a nice winter flowering bulb plant.

One final suggestion is Sanseveria or Mother- in- law's tongue. I hope this helps. Herb Lady.

Nothing, don't lose your hair trying to do that. Mulch is nice and clean.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
