Anyone have any tips for International iPhone usage? My wife is going to Paris for a week. Thoughts, experience or insight?

The smartest thing to do is turn off any function set to automatically update, download or receive pushed information, like email. Also, limit use of the phone as much as possible and keep it turned off when not in use. All you need to know is here: tipsfor.us/2009/02/23/traveling-internat....

If you both have a webcam, use sykpe (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skype). Its free and its a video-cam. The rommie uses it to talk/see see his girlfreind in England.

They use it all the time and love it.

Thanks for trying , but this is not very helpful @galaxybrowser. 1. Many phones do not work overseas. I just got back from Seoul and Tokyo where iPhones work and Blackberry's don't for example.

2. Some phones have OUTRAGEOUS roaming fees for both data and voice.3. Most phone companies offer a hugely discounted international fee (when compared to roaming charges) if you simply call and get their "international plan" for the month (or week you're there).

What phone and provider do you have?

You don't have to do anything to it. It will work fine. Only thing you might get charged roaming fees.

I would call the wireless provider.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
