Anyone using a Dell Vostro 1720? Good system?

We, in India bought a Dell vostro 1720 for our client. This is very affordable for most people. It seems the Dell have realized the impact of downtime for normal consumers, so they cater us with low prices.

Of course, this is a wonderful thing for us. We liked the following features. Fingerprint reader for multi- factor authentication or adding an encrypted hard drive plus Trusted Platform Module (TPM) protected network connection for added security. It is useful to our client information, design plans and financial records by subscribing to services such as Dell ProSupport Hard Drive Data Recovery, Certified Data Destruction, Laptop Tracking and Recovery, Remote Data Delete and DataSafe Online backup.

What’s better, long battery life, fast wireless connections and Dell’s Extended Battery Service help to keep us going without interruption. This is very important for business use.

It seems cool, but has nothing attached yet.My newest PC, a Dell Vostro 230 desktop has a serial port, and that worked great with the Roll-over Cable that was supplied. I am using TeraTerm as the console app. TeraTerm is also connected to a Linux serial console (USB-TTL) and they both seem to function well at the same time.

Cisco on COM1(9600Bbaud), and my Dockstar on COM3(115200baud). I feel it was a good deal for $80 with free shipping. I am sure I will learn things a network simulator will not teach.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
