Apache URL rewritng changes the browser's URL on some servers?

It may depend the server, about set index file. Maybe you could do just L so it does not send you a different address but does the change in server side. So user will see the address like example.Com/page istead of example.

Com/? Var=page.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
