Apocalypse is predicted to be on December 21, 2012 by the Mayan calendar ( majority of their predictions have come true)?

height=200> Firstly, the Mayan Calendar predicts no apocalypse. The year 2012 is simply an end to one "long-count" of about 5,000 years, but the calendar does go on. This is just the flipping of a digit from 12 to 13.0.0.0.0.

There is no apocalypse written into this changeover, implied or obvious. Secondly, although multiple predictions may have come true, one who believes in predictions would likely dub Nostradamus as one of the most psychic and best at producing accurate predictions. But the accuracy of his almanac have largely been mistranslations, misinterpretations, and due to the fact he wrote so much, a few words had to have matched future events.

Some claim he predicted the 9/11 attacks, snopes debunked this in 2001: snopes.com/rumors/nostradamus.asp I think this directly applies to Mayan predictions. Since the dawn of time man has predicted his own demise. Here is a link to a few hundred previous doomsdays that never came: bible.ca/pre-date-setters.htm Could a single event of astronomical importance happen this day?Maybe.

Will it affect us on earth? Definitely not.

I don't believe Apocalypse will happen on December 21, 2012 as predicted, based on statements by NASA. -quote- ""There is no factual basis for these claims," Nasa said in a question-and-answer posting on its website. If such a collision were real, "astronomers would have been tracking it for at least the past decade, and it would be visible by now to the naked eye," it added."Obviously, it does not exist.

" "Credible scientists worldwide know of no threat associated with 2012," it insisted. Initial theories set the disaster for May 2003, but when nothing happened the date was moved forward to the winter solstice in 2012, to coincide with the end of a cycle of the ancient Mayan calendar. Nasa insisted the Mayan calendar does not in fact end on December 21, 2012, as another period begins immediately afterward.

When I first read that one before, I really was worried. I thought of my family, my children and everything important to me. And I recalled that when I was a kid, a lot of people where also worried because they believed that the world would end but until now, here I am still witnessing how far the world has changed. So I convince myself that the world will not end on December 21, 2012.

I have a strong faith in God above and I believe that only He knows when the world will end. ---quote--- What significance the classic Maya gave the 2012 date is uncertain. Most classic Maya inscriptions are strictly historical and do not make any prophetic declarations.

I am a writer and wrote about this recently. My take is not to worry about it that I think it is hype. I try to worry about things I can control.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
