Approximately how many fighter jets does the U.S. Air Force have?

More then the amount of pennies that will ever run thru your hands (Added to original answer... This smart alek answer is because of something us in the military call OPSEC... You don't need to know how many fighters there are, just know that Independence day is true on the number of jets, and then some... Just remember... they are there and flying overhead all the time, but you will never see them! Haha) If OPSEC is some code word for "a__hole" then you obviously fit right in. I was asking a reasonable question.

Judging by the tremendous waste our country tolerates maybe we need to ask ourselves do we really need 2500 fighter jets?

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
