Are all the schools in Norfolk VA accredited?

As of June 2011 all public schools in the Norfolk school system were to be fully accredited. Private schools would have their own rules and regulations not party to public schools and may or may not be accredited.

(WAVY) - Lafayette-Winona Middle School in Norfolk has been denied state accreditation for the second year in a row. The Virginia Board of Education came down with that decision Thursday, in a unanimous vote. Denied accreditation is the worst rating a school can receive.

The school has missed state testing targets for the last six years, according to Norfolk schools spokeswoman Elizabeth Mather. Mather said Lafayette-Winona is working hard to make improvements and will continue with its efforts. School Principal Tracey Flemings had appealed to the Board of Education for conditional accreditation based on the implementation of its reconstitution plan.

On Thursday, the Board of Education decided to grant Lindenwood Elementary School in Norfolk conditional accreditation. Mather said the school made significant improvements in SOL testing scores. For a school to be fully accredited, the VDOE says students must achieve an adjusted pass rate of 75 percent in third-grade and fifth-grade English, 70 percent in mathematics and 50 percent in third-grade science and history/social science.

Otherwise, the student results must meet the adjusted pass rate of 70 percent in each of the four core academic areas – English, mathematics, history/social science. Click here for a complete list of all Virginia 2011/2012 accreditation ratings.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
