Are the pellet furnaces (stoves) a decent replacement for a gas furnace?

Probably not for everyone. Do you want to be shackled to a particular pellet provider? Do you mind shovelling in pellets?

Are you going to sleep next to the stove? What happens if you r pellet supplier goes bust? What do your neighbors think of the stench?

I live in the country, no neighbors next door, I can buy the pellets bythe truck load at reduced prices right from one of the many mfgs. The stove holds a three to four day supply of pellets, living in WI. Heavychevy1 10 days ago .

It depends on the comparative cost of wood pellets and natural gas. Depending on where you are, it could go either way. Be sure to consider the additional maintenance that loading and cleaning the pellet stove will involve.

The furnace is only 79% efficient as per the gentlemen that comes to clean it. I would like to rid myself of the oil barons this year, and find another more cost efficient way to heat my home. I don't believe I can post what I'm paying for oil, but lets say its almost level with the mortgage.

The layout of the house is too small and awkwardly arranged to make decent use of a wood stove, but I've been looking into a wood pellet burning boiler made by harman. I talked with the gentleman on the phone yesterday and he thinks I would use about 4 tons a year to heat the house. The best part is I would leave my existing system in place as a backup.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
