Are the Republicans hurting themselves by attacking President Obama on the Libya No Fly Zone?

You are correct, the President had the authority to act with both the U.N. Resolution and the War Powers Act of 1973. Those that claim that he did not have the authority, no nothing of United States Law or International Law. These people do not even recognize the power of the U.N., they seem to think that it is a Social Club rather than a Governing Body.

I think most of the people in this section would fail a United States History Test, and they would certainly fail a Civics Test.

He's participating in what is, if you don't try to use semantics (police action anyone?) an act of war. The UN is a tool of Islam. Has been for some time now.

Regardless, the UN does not control the US. Obama can't hide behind them. As for Reagan, lots of people 'cried' when ever he did anything.

Those people were the Democrats and, as usual, they hated his guts. Not saying that the Republicans don't hate Obama's guts. Just saying that Reagan was not loved by all.

Oh, and one other thing, the Democrats are now officially a bunch of hypocrites. I listened to their crap (as an undecided with Democrat leanings) for 8 years and now Obama is going to pull the same **** and you don't expect me to say anything? I don't think so.

Additional Details Gadhafi threatened to slaughter his own people. If President Obama did not take action to protect these people, they would have been slaughtered, and you would have blamed Obama for doing nothing. I believe History will show that he made the right decision ---dictators are doing this every day.

If Obama was going around opposing every single bloodthirsty dictator, we'd be in probably every third world country there is. And no, we wouldn't be blamed Obama for doing nothing. We might however point out NOW that there were plenty of other genocides and what not going on around the world and ask why he picked THIS one.

We might also point out that America has got real problems and it might be nice if he could stop acting like a global pro-wrestler and do his goddamn job. And no. I'm not a conservative.

I'm an independent. But if there's one thing I know by heart, it's the liberal sing-along. "Peace, love and understanding.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
