Are the Turtles brothers by bloodline?

Iit's a mystery whether or not they're actually blood brothers. Regardless, they feel that they are, which is all that really matters in their (and our) eyes. In the "Next Mutation" series, Leonardo stated in the first episode that the Turtles are not blood-related but are brothers in the sense that they were raised as such (thanks to Dan Calkins for pointing this out).
