Pink eye is very contagious, so when someone has pinkeye they should avoid touching their eyes. They should also wash their hand very thoroughly. * Wash the eyes with baby shampoo.
Because you are not going to want to touch the eyes, dilute a small amount of baby shampoo in water, then use a cotton ball to apply it. Close your eyes and pat and gently wipe the eye lids. This might be to harsh for children's eyes, so avoid using it on small children.
