Are there educational video games specially made for toddlers?

There are hundreds, maybe thousands, of educational video games for toddlers. However, in my opinion video games with toddlers should be used for very limited amounts of time only, just how much time will depend upon the child. This is an age when children need to master gross motor skills, such as running, jumping, walking up steps, etc.As well as fine motor skills (hand and finger movements) that would be needed for using a mouse or keyboard.

An over emphasis on fine motor skill development could have unexpected consequences. So it is important to have a balance of activities and to be sure that video games don't take over the child's life. Having said all that, I do think video games can be a fun way for young children to learn lots of things such as numbers and letters.
