Are we entering a New McCarthyism? The politics of mosques and Korans show America to be in the worst spasm of paranoi?

I am wondering how it is that so many citizens in this country are so mentally and emotionally underdeveloped. I knew it was bad, but I never could have guessed the depth of sheer ignorance, fear and prejudice that still grips the hearts and minds of a great many Americans. Ignorance and fear that is centuries old and should be long gone by now is gurgling up from the din and screaming through the vitriolic, self righteous anger of its unthinking recipients.

Something is very wrong with this country and it has nothing to do with the economy. It has to do with its heart and soul. Where is the vision and the courage this country was supposed to be about?

Every day our men and women are fighting in hellish conditions, and for what? The people back home are acting like frightened little children. Its absolutely embarrassing to be an American at this point in time.

There is fear where reason, nobility and courage should thrive. There is prejudice where respect, decency and unity should abound. I thought we had earned that badge, but I was wrong.

This country is doomed if it is left in the hands of these fearful ones. Everything Americans have fought and died for is being made a mockery of by those who wish failure upon our government and still are content to punish those who are different. What do all of those white crosses covering our soil mean anyway?

What do they amount to when sheer ignorance threatens to set us on a backwards course and give back to the void all we have won. Level headed, mature citizens have to stand up to this dis-ease and take back the reigns. William Shakespeare must have seen the times we are living here now when he wrote of life:"....It is a taleTold by an idiot, full of sound and fury,Signifying nothing."

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
