As a conservative, I deplore any sending of death threats to anyone, even if I disagree with what that person or persons may have said. I sincerely hope Mr. Obama will be defeated in 2012, but race has nothing to do with that. I feel he is at best mediocre as a senator or as a president and at worst is destructive to this country.
I have listened to Limbaugh for many years, and often disagree with some of the things he has said, but I have never heard him make a racist comment. There are idiots on both sides of the political spectrum, unfortunately. And there are those, like you, who choose to consider the idiots representative of the majority of those who lean left or right.
Any person who is capable of logical thinking will understand the fallacy here. I will not accuse you of pulling the race card--others can judge that as well as I can. I will suggest you are using faulty logic based on an unfounded premise.
I will agree that the men who murdered James Byrd were racists, and any true conservative would be offended at any Klan activity, including burning a cross anywhere. By the way, a "con" is a convict--not a conservative.
No one denies that racism exists. There are bigots in the world. Be careful casting blanket aspersions on anyone.
That is the very nature of bigotry after all and to say that all conservative are bigots is the very height of hypocrisy. There was nothing racist about what Limbaugh said. Senator Lee did pull the race card in attacking him.
Then some ignorant racist bastard who doesn't speak for anyone but himself sent death threats to the Senator. That particular racist idiot ought to serve some jail time. Senator Lee owes Rush Limbaugh an apology.
And that's that.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
