At 7.5 months old, Why won't my baby eat baby formula?

Starting from birth, she ate breast milk and baby formula a lot. In fact, she liked baby formula more.At 6 months, we started giving her extra food, and she begins to hate the formula. Now, the doctor said she looks small.

She eats a lot of other food, like cereal, but hates the formula. I've heard people say formula helps children grow well, could her reduced-size be as a result of her not eating the formula? How can I make her like the formula again?.

We give our little punk Carnation with Whole milk, she chugs it. Also, whole milk yogurt with maple syrup.

Heh heh. I grew up on Carnation instant milk, which was liveable until I went somewhere else and had the real thing. That crap is horrible!

My daughter is feeding her son formula from the get go and he slurps it down because it satisfies the hunger and IT'S ALL HE'S EVER HAD! You made the mistake of letting your li'l tyke know there was a choice. She had the formula when the much sweeter breast milk was included but now that there's no more good stuff and only that nasty stuff, yikes!

At 7-8 months, start on the pureed food. She should like carrots (sweet) and bananas.

Thanks. We are using Enfamil. She just HATES it a lot.

She prefers breast milk. So I'm wondering formula and breast milk, which is superior, or do they do different things to babys? People say, without formula, she won't grow well.

My son hates Similac but likes Enfamil Gentleease. You may want to try mixing the formula with some of the foods she likes and gradually increase the amount of formula and lesson the amount of foods. My son loves mangos, but hates carrots! So I mix the 2 together and he gobbles it down.

I hope this helps. Irregardless, I definitely think you need to get your child's pediatrician's advice on what to do. Good luck!

.

If I were in your shoes I would mix 3/4 breast milk to 1/4 formula. If she absolutely HATES one brand, ask your pediatrician for some sample packs to try out. This way your not out any extra cash.

Lord knows formula can get expensive, especially if your throwing it away. When you find one she likes, find the brand's website and join their mailing list so you can get coupons & free samples in the mail. My doctor says breast milk is the best thing for a baby.

I would still be breast feeding him except that he was always gassy & I hated seeing him in pain. Again, good luck! .

Get one tablespoon of the powdered formula (Gerber Good Start), mix it with the dry baby cereal, spring water to the right consistency and baby mashed bananas or other fruits. Warm it up a little. If she is eating well she just may be petite.

Maybe the solid food fills her up. My 6 month old grandson has a formula bottle (6 to 8oz) every 3.5 hours. He eats cereal and fruit in the morning (between bottles).

Veggies for lunch and dinner. Cereal and fruit before bed. Sleeps through the night (12 hours).

He is 20 Lbs and 27 inches long. Big. First thing in the morning he wants the bottle and nothing else.

After 1.5 hours we offer the cereal and fruit. After 2 hours another bottle. Naps.Play.

A little container of veggies.... and so on.

Thanks. Do you think if we change to another brand, will it be ok? We are using Enfamil now.

My grandson did not do well with Enfamil...very colicky and did not like it. Loves the Gerber but he still was gassy. What about the Similac?

The pediatrician gets samples for the parents to try. Ask for it. Like I said...... each baby has its own taste buds.

Just make sure to keep the doctor informed because if something is not right you will need a professional's directions.

Babies have to have formula (or breast milk) up to 12 mo's. Please do not give whole milk yet unless directed by your pediatrician. A baby's digestive system cannot handle whole milk until around 1 yr of age.It cannot properly breakdown the enzymes until then.

It is very important that your baby gets the nutrition from formula for physical health and mental. Your baby's brain is growing and need the nutrition offered in the formula that the baby food is lacking. I would speak to the doctor, nurse, or if you have a program called WIC..(Women, Infants, and Children) they might be able to help you get your baby back on track or direct you to what needs to be done next for your baby's nutritional needs.

I hope you find the help you need for your baby. Have a blessed day.

And please do not give your baby maple syrup, honey, or anything of the sort.

Thanks! And Thanks a lot. Also could lack of her eating the formula result in her physical growth?

How old is it that your baby won't food to eat.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
