B&W movie about shipwreck survivors who live at the bottom of the ocean?

I'm looking for a movie for my mom. She said she saw it on TV many years ago (but can't remember exactly how many) and she said it was a 2 night mini-series and she thinks the first night it was in black and white and the next night it was in color. She said the plot, as close as she can remember, was about a group of shipwreck survivors who lived at the bottom of the ocean in an air pocket in their sunken ship.

They lived there awhile and had a whole functioning society down there where they grew food. They were rescued and returned home but found that they didn't like living on land anymore because they had spent so much time at the bottom of the ocean. I know it's a long shot - but does anyone know what the name of this movie is?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
