Believers aren't suppose to judge others ,so why judge an athiest?

Actually, that is not the complete truth............

We are called upon to make a "righteous judgement". We are also called upon to be willing to be judged by the same "measure", that we judge others.

We are to call illegal activity.......well, illegal, cruelty, cruelty, greed, greed......

If a guy throws a bomb, I am allowed to judge him as a bomber.........

What we are NOT to do, is 'pick on you' simply for being of a different mind, to hold you up for ridicule, to make a spectacle of you in a mean and petty spirit. We can not deem your worth to be less than ours because of the job you have, the home you live in, the clothing that you wear.

There is no justification for holding another up for the same things that we ourselves are guilty of.

We ARE NOT qualified to say whom God punishes or forgives.

We are indeed to call a sin, by its name..........sin.

As far as I ever experienced, everytime I showed up in the religion forums, it is me who had been judge so many times even before I said anything about atheist.

You know what you know, let them scramble around a look like fools if that is their agenda. Don't play the game.

I am a Christian but I will NOT try to ram what I believe down someone's throat--it is just wrong.

Judging is a fact of human nature. In my opinion, no one has the right to judge because no one is perfect. An atheist should not be judged by believers and vice versa.

All our fingers are not equal and so is what we choose to believe in or not. Our fingers in union with other body parts create the ability for our body to perform its essential daily functions. In the same way believers and atheists alike all have special roles that they play in society which makes them valuable and indispensable probably.

You can't blame an atheist for not believing if that is all they have known their entire lives and neither can you condemn a believer if they were raised that way. Also experiences and circumstances, dictate the path people tend to follow. Its not our place to judge or decide whether the path is right or wrong.As is quoted in the book of St John 8:7 - He that is without sin, among you, let him cast the first stone...Conclusion?

No one is perfect.

First, because, an atheist is Not a Believer ... but in the larger perspective ... I want to help him or her saved from Hell's Fire!

I don't think Athiest should be judged because the end result is always the same. Whether your a believer an athiest or anything else we are all human beings and we all learn from different opinions. How boring would this world be if we were all the same without learning from each other.

I'm a believer but I would feel stupid if I tried to judge a non believer because I learned so much from them and the one thing that a learned and stuck with me the most is that we are all the same in the end.

I think athiests are the ones who judge others. For example if I'm having a conversation with someone and happen to say I love the Lord, that person immediately tells me they don't believe in God. Well, I didn't say that they should love the Lord or believe in God, I simply said that I love the Lord, I was speaking for myself.

Nightwork4, good question. No one should judge another person as good or bad. We should only love them.

That's difficult to do at times.

We should even love despite the fact that they did monstrous things. But we should not turn a blind eye to evil things. And that's where many people fail at this.

They can't distinguish between the act and the person doing it.

When someone judges an atheist or even harasses them to believe, they are letting their ego show. And the Nazarene teacher said that we should give up this most prized possession (ego).

Contrary to what some believe, it's not about "living a good life. " Certainly, we should not live an evil life, full of selfishness and contempt for others. But the object of all this stuff on planet Earth is our own spiritual awakening.

That's Heaven -- the kingdom within. Regrettably, most so-called Christians will end up with those who decide to cling to the things of this world (especially ego). I don't like the idea of others suffering, but the choice is ours.

Merely being "good" will not save you from the spiritual default.

They should'n be judged. I'm with you on that.

What they are suppose to do they never do and what they shouldn't be doing they do. It's just a matter of believing and sticking to what you belief no matter what anyone says! Everyone is judged at some point of the day 365 days a year, but who cares or pays attention to what someone randomly thinks.

If you did that you would waste your energy uselessly.

First of all those who believe, truly believe in one thing, are going to think less of those who think differently. If I claim that all trees are purple, you think "that's not true!" and even if you tell me you think I'm an equal, etc, you are still going to think that if I don't even know trees are green, I must be crazy. Do I think it is ok to judge like this?

No. But I do understand why. I hope I got the point across!

Judging seems to be a thorn in the paw of the lion. I prefer discernment, though I know I do judge at times. Maybe it is a matter of strong will vs.weak will, I am not sure.

Simply stereotyping is judging by default, though it may be the product of socialization. Not actually a product of a judging process, but more a product of simply unlikeness, so therefore is wrong. Now I ponder isn't disagreement - a difference in view or opinion, judging?

That in itself seems OK to me, it is the sentencing after the judgment that may give me cause of concern. Sorry, I wondered a bit :).

I walk with you as a human, I don't judge, I don't hate, I only Love. Many people need and want a higher being to help them through life, plus as I see it, our Earth is so beautiful and intricate and marvelous to just "happen", so therefore I believe in God because thats what I believe, so don't judge me for what I believe either. Being Atheist is not foolish it is a way of life for you and it makes you happy, then live happy don't fall for the hype people throw at you.

Human decency is not derived from religion. It precedes it.

People who judge others like this are not believers but open themselves up to be condemned for it is written "Condemn not, lest you be condemned.

Your are absolutely right. No one should judge others.

With a few exceptions, we should respect the views of others.

Exceptions include violence, criminal intent, coercion, exploitation and restriction the freedom of others.

Atheist and other belief systems should be free from judgements, coercions or violent disagreements.

Discussions and observations to learn each other viewpoints should be encouraged, if it can be done peacefully and respectfully.

Growing up in a very Baptist, Southern home, I know all about judgment. I am now a non-religious person but there is judgment for that as well. I have always found it interesting how most religious people judge atheists and I don't get it either.

If you are supposed to love and accept others, with all of their differences, then how can you sit there and point fingers at anyone? It doesn't make sense to me.

I have a good one for you. When my sister first met my ex-husband, she was quick to put him on the spot and ask what religion he was raised with. He answered Catholic but only when he was young.

She then replied, "Oh well, I guess there will be some Catholics in heaven". Ha! It is so silly how the very people who tell everyone else how to live (according to their "god") cannot accept the fact that they are no more deserving or enlightened than anyone else.

We are all human beings and we are all equal.

I actually don't really have to cause my best friend was one. I try not to judge anyone, even if I don't agree with what they do. If they are living a good life and have moral which anyone can, I say leave them alone.

Thou I may make a hub about how I feel and believe but that's different entirely, it's not a personal attack it's a hub about what I think is wrong with athiesm.

Believers aren't supposed to judge either. Scripture teaches us to judge not, yest you be judged. We each have our own path to travel and I don't know about you, but I don't have time to take care of my business and yours at the same time.

If I'm caught up with what you should do, I'm probably not paying enough attention to what I should be doing!

My opinion, no one should judge anyone based on their personal religious or non-religious beliefs. It is that kind of judgement that incites hatred.

While we have evolved in our humanity I think we do have a way to go before we as human beings will be able to truly accept each others differences.

Those who prefer to smoke are persecuted by non-smokers. Those who enjoy meat are judged by non-meat eaters.

Those who watch adult films are looked at distastefully from those who don't watch them.

My point is, there is always (at least for now) going to be someone who doesn't believe in the lifestyle choices that you make.

The goal for you as an atheist, is to not concern yourself with how others may view you or your beliefs, but rather with how you view yourself.

When you focus only on your own hopes and your own beliefs you will find that you don't have time to really worry about anyone else.

I live my life in the belief that they may or may not be a God. If there is, I will live a good life, and if there isn't I will still live a good life, because at the end of the day, whether or not I will be judged is not relevant.

What is important is whether or not I can look at myself in the mirror and be proud of what I see. Hope this helps!

Story is littered with the corpses of non-christians who were judged by believers. From the culturally destructive missionary movement to the millions of lost and dead mothers thrown out of their homes/towns/jobs/families for being pregnant out of wedlock. More often than not raped by the local priest...

Most of the hideous wars we are currently witnessing have religious judgement at their heart; even tler thought he had god on his side.

The problem is, your belief makes you different to everyone else, which seperates your tribe (in this case christian 'believers') from the rest of humanity. This seperation increases the risk of subjective dehumanisation, and the slaughter that often follows when you can no longer relate to your neighbour.

The world would be a much better place without belief. But then we would have no problem with belief if people kept it to themselves - like most atheists.

Maybe not, judging is different from comments or maybe its just the way around of what make thing right is worng...

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
