There are a lot of apartments around me, in old houses that have been broken up into apts, that only have one meter, and the renters spilt the cost of utilities according to how the landlord deems fit. Now, if you live alone, and the other renters are a family, then you should be paying a smaller share than them.

Yes, the landlord either opts to pay the utility bills, or he divides it in half and each tenant pays half. Personally I don't care for that system of each tenant paying 1/2 , if the other tenant uses a lot more electricity, gas and water, I don't want to pay for it.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
