Can an applicant request more than the allotted funds for a particular grant topic if they feel their project merits greater funding?

We have never approved a grant for an amount that is over the funding amount announced in the call for proposals. We strongly recommend that applicants do not request more than the specified amount. Our grants try to make the biggest impact possible with a limited budget and reviewers are coached to not have unrealistic expectations about the scope of the project.

Applicants should reduce the scope of the project to fit the requested funding amount.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
