Can God stop tornados?

You know, I used to believe in a God and now I don't. My son has a rare cancer and after being treated with every type of chemo there is, he is getting worse and the out look is not good. For 15 months now I have prayed to no avail.

Then I started questioning everything about my faith. Here are some of my questions: 1. Bible says if 3 or more comes in my name, thou shall be done.

Well, 1000's are praying for my son and not a single prayer answered. Then I hear, well it's God's will. If it's God's will, then why pray.

God has made up his mind. If my son doesn't make it, then those will say again, it's God's will. So it's out of our hands.2.

If God is all loving, more than you and I could ever imagine, why did he kill so many in the bible. I would never kill anyone regardless of what they did. The 2 individuals that God said don't look back at the city when it was being destroyed and they did, God turned them to dust.

But yet Satan, who fought God was only kicked out of heaven. Why didn't God kill Satan knowing that Satan would turn others against him. SO you can't look back at a city, but you can fight God and that is okay.3.

They say we have free will. How is it free will when you have two options. Either accept God or burn in hell.

Sounds like a fear tactic, not free will. SO like there is a choice?4. Here's is the best one.In this world, there has to be duality meaning if there is hot, there has to be cold.

If there is dark, there has to be light. There has to be an opposite for everything in this world. So, if there is good, then evil has to exist. SO who fills the part of evil?

People have too since evil has to exist.SO with that in mind, not everyone can be a christian and follow God. Makes you think, doesn't it. 5.Is it true the bible says the book of life is written and sealed?

If so, then our names our either already in the book or they are not. 6. I got 100's more, but to answer your question and it's just my belief.

I understand that God cannot interfere cause if he can, then no one would have to die by natural disasters. Sounds strange that preachers say that God can't interfere, but yet we are asked to pray.So does God just pick and choose when to get involved? What makes one person special over another?

Anyhow, it's hard now for me to pray to someone I can't see, to someone who doesn't answer back and to someone that we can't touch. I've talked to 100's who go to church and are christian s since my son been sick and it seems they quote the bible whenever it fits their needs and when they can't find an answer, then they use the typical, well, it's God's will. I am so sick of hearing that.

Sorry to rant on, and not sure if I even answered your question.

I will tel you BB, it's going to take more space than I have here to explain things to you...When Adam and Eve was put out of the garden of Eden where everything was perfect like you think it should be, Sin entered the world and then the curse put on man changed everything. We have to work, pain in child birth, bad things and some good things are going to happen, it's part of the price of doing wrong and it is passed on to us all, you also. So the only way to get back in God's blessing is to give your heart to him, repent of your sins, receive the Holy Ghost which is God's spirit living in you that helps you do the4 right things and when he returns to earth to claim his bride(The Church) then we go back to the place where all is perfect.But...until then we have this...

Yes, you have answered my question. Basically, praying does not help at all.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.

Hebrews 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him. Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Mark 4:39 And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, peace, be still.

And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm. HAVE FAITH IN GOD. HE KNOWS WHAT HE IS DOING.Be Blessed.

Yea BB, curse God and he will jump to your defence, God is just waiting to show people with bitterness in their hearts that he can do anything for just them. You think God will do something to prove himself? Well he gave us the bible to read for instructions and requires that we beleive.

Even if he did show you a miracle you would have doubt and not beleive. All I say to people like yourself is "one day you will beleive, when you stand before him.

Then just answer this one question. As I said before, there has to be duality in this world in order for us to understand the differences. We would not understand hot unless there is cold, not know light if there was no darkness and of course, we would not know we are blessed or not unless good and evil exist.

Evil has to exist. There are opposites in everything in this world so evil can never go away. So someone has to fulfill that role.

That means not everyone can believe in God and be a Christian. Who has to be the evil ones (murders, crime, etc). I believe those people have to exist.

Look, I believed in God for 45 years and did what christians should. But since my son is getting worse and will not live another 6 months, of course I have to question my belief. I prayed just as 1000's have for him.

The bible even stated if 3 or more come in my name thou shall be done. Well, it's not being done. People quote me the bible everyday and when I bring up that verse, then they all say, well, it's God's will.So what verses should we take as gospel and what verses shall we ignore if it's not true.

If you believe in the bible, then every word should be taken as gospel. All my friends are christians and they understand why I feel as I do right now. But how can someone quote one verse and tell me you better believe it and then I quote a verse word for word and it does not happen.

If everything is in God's hands, then why pray. That's what every pastor has told me that God knows what is best.So I don't have a say? The bible says have faith and all will be fine.

I believed for all these years and even during the 1st year of my son's sickness. All I asked for is for the doctor to say there may be hope. But from all my prayers over a year, not one sign.

I feel as if I am praying to a rock. I hear nothing, I feel nothing and I see no signs. How much longer am I expected to wait?

I am not asking God to make him well or else or to even prove himself. I just want to know if there is hope and guess from what I see as of today, there is no hope. Guess I have to believe God is going to take him regardless.

I still want to believe but as humans, it's hard to have faith when you pray so hard and not see it come true.

No one knows God's plan and no one knows the mind of God. The Bible says that the promises of God are Yea and Amen (Yes or let it be so). Sickness comes, and sometimes God says yes to healing and sometimes he says no.

That does not excuse the fact that he is God and his will is done. God gave you your precious Son to share love with for a time. If it is his will he will let you have more time with him.

Only God knows our time here on earth. Doctors are wonderful but not even they can dictate the time God has for us on this earth. God has the final say.

He can heal even on the death bed. My advice to you is to love your Son, keep the faith in God. If his answer is yes accept it.

If his answer is no accept it. The important thing is to share God's love with your son, so that he will get to know him. He may pass from this life but he will be assured to pass into life everlasting.

If he has not accepted Jesus as his Savior, make sure that he knows that accepting him assures him of eternal life through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Deuteronomy 32:39-40 See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive: I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand. For I lift up my hand to heaven, and say, I live forever.

Job 14:14 If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. James 4:14 Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow.

For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away. Expect a miracle but also be willing to accept God's final decision.

Remember, the promises of God are Yea and Amen. Be Blessed.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
