Braids are back in style! I think it is because they were popular in the early to mid 90’s and are coming back with the resurgence of clothing styles from that era. I am seeing more and more people with their hair in ponytails and braids.
You can learn to french braid. I don’t recommend trying to do it for yourself as it is hard to get tight when you can’t see what you’re doing. Don’t use a brush or comb when you french braid.
Use your fingers. To begin, separate a section of hair at the top of the back of the head. Divide that section into 3 sections.
Cross left over center, then right over the new center. Pull a new section from the left, equal to the original left section, add it to the current left section and cross it over the new center. Repeat on the right side.
Keep going all the way to the nape of the neck, finishing with a three piece braid as described below. You can do a traditional three piece braid on yourself. Divide your hair into three sections at the nape of your neck and cross left over center, right over the new center all the way down to the end.
