Can I use home made laundry soap - naptha soap, borax, washing soda and water in HE washers?

YES! And it works so wonderful! Modern commercial laundry soaps have added sudsing agents - so that consumers think they are working so hard.

HE soaps do not have these added sudsing agents. I use the recipe: Naptha (1 bar), Borax (1 cup), & Washing soda (1 cup) all dissolved in water (10 gallons) recipe and use 1/4 cup of this in my HE machine. Has been working great for over a year now & LOVE the smell.

Also use a splash of white vinegar in the "softener" cycle to cut any soap residue that may be on the clothes. No vinegar smell after it's done.
