Can I use the linksys wireless adapter for tivo or do I have to buy the tivo one?

Use what's compatible... Here's a link to the TiVo site that discusses which wireless adapters will work. Personally, I use a NetGear adapter and rarely have problems with it, although it does disconnect from time to time. I just reboot the TiVo and it connects immediately.

You should use an approved adapter Tivo has a list of approved wireless network adapters on their web site. You can always try a different adapter if you happen to have one, but if you're looking to buy one, go with one that they've already tested. TiVo has one of their own, but you can use another one that is known and tested to work.

I would go with one that they've tested rather than one that has been "reported to work" if you have the choice. FWIW, I've personally been having problems with my Netgear WG111 even though it's on the tested list.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
